Often referred to as "The Jewel of The Severn" Bridgnorth occupies one of the most spectacular inland town settings in England. The lower part of the town Low Town straddles the magnificent River Severn, whilst the upper portion High Town is perched dramatically on top of one hundred foot sandstone cliffs. The two are linked by a series of historic winding steps and a unique cliff railway. With a multitude of attractions, both in the town and the surrounding area, prospective visitors are well advised to devote a considerable amount of time for their visit to this ancient market town !
